ARCHIVE. Fischbeck Town, part II, Dyke Burst and Flooding
A dyke near Fischbeck in the state of Saxony-Anhalt was breached overnight on Monday, 10th of June, allowing floodwaters to completely inundate the village. Our photographers reached the town yesterday.
The torrent of floodwaters in Germany has turned vast areas into a brown water world, sparked a mass mobilisation of emergency workers and caused billions of euros in damage in what one lawmaker termed a "national catastrophe".
